When we trade, we are not trading the stock. Okay, technically we ARE trading stocks, but we are not interested in the stock. In fact, we may not even know the name of the stock we are trading.

We are trading the the MOVEMENT of the stock. We are looking for the PROBABILITY that the stock price will move in a specific direction.

It's just like planning a fishing trip. What is the first thing you do? You check the weather! You want to know the five day weather forecast. Any if you see some bad weather coming in, you change your plans. You postpone the trip until the skys are clear.

We trade a stock only when the weather is good for that stock. It may be raining elsewhere, but in our stock the sun is shining, at least for the next day or two. And that's all we need, a couple of sunny days to catch a few fish!

Always remember...no one can predict the weather for more than a week!

Shorten your trading horizon. Don't speculate what will happen to your stock in a year, or quarter, or even a month. Let's become weathermen (and women of course). We can predict with reasonable accuracy what a stock will do over the next few days.
